Well if the song you want to make requires it and it sounds good then there are no downsides.

That tempo range has you going from House to Drum & Bass to Dubstep tempos. Never really heard a tune doing all three of those tempos but if it sounds good to you then go for it.

If you do it right, it could be a useful DJ tool.

I'm wildly interested to see what rhythms you'll be pulling this off with.

I love tracks that switch tempo and make it work. it's difficult. Definitely a fan of the Dubstep into D&B tunes that just make the crowd jump :P

I love tempo switch ups! I think they're something to be admired. They take a lot of time/patience/skill to get right.
I had a go at 170 to 140 in my latest track Trigga. It worked out okaaaaay.
But three different tempos. o.O never heard that before... good job!

done a few as dj tools for myself
the tempo track in cubase makes it easy to do it gradually and more naturally

why not for example if its 140bpm and you want to switch from dubstep to dnb, why not put the snare on the 5 (2nd beat) and the 13 (4th Beat) rather than just on the 9 (3rd beat) and vice versa if its 170bpm and to shift into dubstep just make the drums halftime or double time rather than messing with the tempo, it may sound good with tempo shifts but can mess the track up when its rendered as dj's will pick it up as the wrong tempo's and frequencies can get lost aswell as the overall richness, correct me if im wrong on any of the above but just seems easier to me! :)

:o

This does not compute... r u speaking music?
anyways u can't substitute a tempo change with clever syncopating, if it changes it changes

OP try n make em more gradual. can u automate a conductor track or summit? in DP we have a conductor track for deez tings

when your drawing in notes you most likely work in 1/16th of a bar, so work it out yourself from there ^

Only thing I could think of is mixing, but that could easily be overseen tbh
Do you say zerbaman? Or do you say zebraman?
