One of the reasons people choose macs is not just for the processsing power but the rock solid operating system. I don't know about Vista but Live 6 and OSX have never failed me on stage and I would not trust a PC as I find they crash more often,
90% of the performers I know in Brighton use a mac and most now have macbooks, the guy I know with a PC told me at his last 5 gigs, he had to reboot half way through his set, and that's obviously veru embarrasing.

BTW, I have a Macbook Black, 2.0GHz, 2GB ram, 160 GB Perpendicular hard drive and this machine flies. :D :D

I highly recomend the Macbook.

yeh this is really worth bearing in mind, i went for pc because i could get more power for money, but i've had a different problem with my pc every week, it crashes lots, doesnt like alot of my hardware, i'm getting a macbook as soon as possible.
its not just if ur thinkin of performing as well, its an arse if it crashes and you'v just thought of a really great idea, then forget it by the time it reboots

I priced up my dream machine last night....check this shit..

8 core, 16G RAM! 4x750TBHD, 2xSuperdrives, 2x30"HighDef Displays Mac Pro for the unbelieveably cheap price off.....

$18,500.00 / £10,000.00 ish

ohh..and that includes Logic (express though)-not even pro!

Anyone want to buy me one? It's my birthday next week.

If not i'll have to stick to my macbook.

ps dont get a windoze pc.

just curious, do you experience all the pc crashes even on a computer thats not connected to internet? i ableton jam all the time (in my basement) on this shitty desktop and it never completely crashes on me. i've read that the pc vs mac stability thing is becoming less and less of an issue, but still in peoples heads. anyway, i guess i should do some reading before any purchases.

whilst i love my macbook here's what ive had fixed in 7 months of ownership.

new logic board, due to keyboard & audio input failure.
new face place due to discolouration & chipping
new battery

and now i need another new battery as it's fucked again!

i strongtly rcommend you get applecare!

must be a few other macbook users youv'e has battery issues?
fess up?, cos when i went to get my macbook fixed there was a big
sign saying "Macbook Pro Battery Replacement Procedure" cos they must be sick of having to sayy the same things over!
