Bassline/ Niche

Post by dubloke » Fri Apr 15, 2011 4:46 pm

anyone else like bassline? Personally I like it in moderation a whole night would drive me up the wall

It seems like old grime producers either went to UK Funky or Bassline?

try living in sheffield you cant walk out of your house without hearing it.

i dont mind it in very small doses, but it seems like over here people are that proud we created it they just listen to niche and only niche.
plus the shit songs outweight the good ones by about a 100000:1

I do like a bit of it every now and then. It's got a pretty high cheese factor but I'd rather that than a hell of a lot of other stuff.

I have literally no idea where to find it though, bar one or two tracks that I keep for playing at parties.

agreed. Also i cant listen to a tune where the MC is obviously retarded and has a vocabulary of about 5 words, which seems to be the case with most bassline

Ironically I only really hear bassline from peoples phones

Very little quality control, brings a smile, what can you do

yeah I got a few on vinyl but half are them are tracks like heart broken and whats it going to be etc. which are hardly real niche. Heartbroken is big no matter what anyone says though.
have you got any links to studio mixes? because I only got CDs and I use my PSP as an MP3 player and it leaves the gaps in CD playlists which gets on my nerves!

Being from outside the uk, I don't know, I don't have a cultural context for bassline. The dope tracks are just dope tracks. Hear so much potential there.

It's around the same BPM is it not? It's just seems faster because of the four to the floor beat.

I like it though in small doses, you can't beat a bit of cheese. Strangely I hate the over the top wub wub basslines in dubstep but love them in bassline.

ill have a look for some studio mixes mate, harddrive bust a few months back but ill have a dig through some old CDs sometime and have a look. i should have a few mixes that i did myself somewhere too if you're interested

and all bassline/niche that ive heard is around 140bpm, just obviously doesnt have the snare on the 3rd beat. its pretty fun mixing niche and dubstep

this used to be the sheffield anthem back in the day haha

THIS TUNE...it still makes me move

and this oh my fucking god i forgot how much i actually liked it
