So what is really going on over there do you think? What kind of crazy conspiracy theories do you have in mind for this one?

What's causing it, what's going to happen, when is it going to happen...... ?

The situation is kind of fucked and the media is totally not even covering it anymore really. Reactors 1 and 3 have been proven to be quite far along in a stage of meltdown. Reactor 3 is filled with MOX fuel which is plutonium and uranium which is some bad news. All of that fallout is catching the jet stream which is hitting the west coast of the US first before making it's way around the world.

jezus fucking hell. isn't really looking good. And still people keep doing what they do, same day each day. I mean what actually has to happen before we start realizing the mess we are in? There's no reason to panic i think, but sure as hell we should start to wake up already! we don't have that much time anymore, judging by the look of things.....

This is really getting serious. I don't understand why people can't see this! We're all brainwashed

What the fuck are you on about? The entire formation of Japan is based on two plates sliding on top of each other. No conspiracy to be had. This has been expected for decades upon decades.

As far as the other parts of this disaster, people need to recognize there are 3 separate events that have occurred, and then get a grip on what's really going on. The problem is they all happened in a cause and effect manner and it's seemingly lumped together that somehow thousands of people are suffering from radiation issues.

1) an earthquake happened (moderate casualties)
2) a tsunami happened (mass, and the majority of casualties)
3) a nuclear incident occurred after a facility was damaged by said tsunami (very very few casualties at all)

if you can calm the fuck down and realize most people died from 1 and 2 you can see that 3, while potentially a big deal, to this point has not been nearly the disaster of 1 and 2.

Despite what playing video games compels you to think, people are not walking around the streets of japan sick from radiation poisoning, with skin dripping off and tumors growing out of their heads. You're more likely to find someone walking around the streets of japan sick from drinking water issues and being displaced from their homes and being lumped together in camps.

I'm not sure I follow... are you supporting the idea of people watching minute by minute updates on disasters? Listening to punditry non stop for hours upon hours at a time?

The reactor is at a state where the outlying areas are evacuated and people are working to maintain the plant to limit fallout. Nothing has changed recently and therefor putting it on a non stop cycle fails to inform the public of anything and does nothing positive.

I wish more people watched the news and read the newspaper, however, at some point if you over report a story you give way to opinion, speculation, and elements that are far from productive.

Most international newspapers have information on Japan daily. I read USA Today, it has information daily. I don't need a reporter from my local news team trying to sensationalize the story by putting on golashes and standing in a flooded area to bring us day XX on the crisis in Japan.

As much as you'd like to be entertained by the news, this might be a situation where the less we hear about the reactor, likely the better as a big story daily on this topic likely means shit is going badly.
