Ive still got hope. Consistent improvement from meh over the first 3 episodes. I remember green wing not kicking off fully straight away...

Hard to not see most the characters as different/shit versions of green wing. Youve pretty much got Guy, Caroline, Martin and a bit of Sue White. But it was aaaall about joanna and statham. Youre really not going to be able to top statham though are you. Its a tricky one. The characters have gotten less green wing like over the next few episodes...

I think the main thing for me is it seems much more scripted. Havent quite got the actors to be able to just improvise.

I haven't written it off because there's parts of it I love and quite reminiscent of what it was like. The bit where the post-grad student teaching under-grads about a topic he didn't know anything about was spot on. It seems to be a built around the redbrick universities.

Well... I'm not sure what to say.

It got better as it went on, saying that it got better because they just made it more and more like Green Wing (which was amazing, and I hate you if you disagree) and the soundtrack is so perfect for the surreal semi-sketchshow layout.

Characters took a while to like, that Jonty guy is basically Sue White crossed with David Brent.

The ending, what the fuck? Anyone else just watched it?

I recorded it. Just about to roll one and pour one, before I watch it.

I am not quite sure what to make of it either. I liked Greenwing but didn't watch it religiously, I have watched every episode of this one but I don't think I have enjoyed it as much. O_o

There's little bits on there which take the piss out of the bureaucracy of large organisations (and obviously higher-ed in particular) and it's spot on, just more exaggerated of course. I didn't like Jonty DeWolf as a character or the maths teacher but I could tolerate them, also the post-grad kid did my head in but I guess he's supposed to. If it wasn't for the prof. of english I don't think it would be half as good and I am reluctant to call it good... I am not sure what it is. It's certainly watchable and quite funny but "good" seems to go too far :D

Basically what Firky said. I rarely watch any TV but I've watched this series, rare that I find any tolerable comedy on TV now.

It's very peculiar in a peculiar way, can't make my mind up about it, generally can be funny/original.

Aye, there's not a lot worth watching so maybe I'm overrating this. But it's a grower, that's why I think I might now find it funnier if I go back to it. I actually like the characters now.

Watch this every week, even though Im not really sure how much I like it, definately prefer green wing which seems to be the general consensus. One thing I can say safely about this show though, is what an incredible pair of breasts George Bryan has. (The female consultant btw) . High light.

If Green Wing hadn't existed, this would've been hailed as something special.

That being said, have found it to be entertaining, and as wubstep said there is so little comedy on TV these days that is tolerable, it's nice to have a show I can watch through to the end without getting sick of.

Campus is pretty poor really, Nyman is amazing (he always is, whatever he does) but the supporting cast (an oddly high number of unfunny, bad actors) have NOTHING on Green Wings crew and the writing is relatively poor as well.

I'm with PKay, Community is hilarious. The Advanced D&D episode is brilliant

Never seen Community. Largely because you have to give most American comedies a miss (unless you're trying to show your sensitive fun loving side to a girl). There are good American comedies out there... just few and very far between. Not that British TV is much better ATM - last really good thing was about 9 years ago with League of Gentleman.

I'll download an episode or two of Community off rapidshare and give tit a go.
