ABLETON SAMPLER HELP PLEASE!!
alright guys...
Im trying to use the sampler in ableton to create my drums and im wondering is it possible to use the parameters in the sampler for the samples seperately becasue whenever i change a parameter for example say the attack on the amp evn. all of my samples attack change even though i have highlighted one specific example?
Help would be very appreciated, Thanks!

Re: ABLETON SAMPLER HELP PLEASE!!
An Ableton drum rack insert is much more suited for this purpose then sampler
Re: ABLETON SAMPLER HELP PLEASE!!
Just played around with it a bit more to be sure, but as far as I know, the filter and envelope tab is global. Why not adjust that sort of thing in a drum rack, or even adjust the sound then dump it back to audio, then fire it into a drum rack?
Re: ABLETON SAMPLER HELP PLEASE!!
yeah man drum rack will solve all that. gives each sound its own simpler to play with the sound, aswell as ability to seperately add effects etc to each sound easily. i wish id gotten into it earlier to be honest but now that i have, im hooked.

Re: ABLETON SAMPLER HELP PLEASE!!
read the section of the manual on instrument racks
you should also use another vst for drums because sampler doesn't have a stretch function (like battery)

Re: ABLETON SAMPLER HELP PLEASE!!
drum rack for sure. I don't use either - I use battery, but drum rack was my go-to before then. Very able(ton -hehe) sampler.

Yeah, timestretch on Sampler is a much requested feature.iamjoncannon wrote: you should also use another vst for drums because sampler doesn't have a stretch function (like battery)
There is a way around it though. Ableton's inherent timestretch functions are quite advanced, so just drag the drums into an audio track set to the new tempo you want. Set it to beat's mode and make sure it's warped how you want it. Bounce that audio and import into sampler. Voila.

Re: ABLETON SAMPLER HELP PLEASE!!
yeah the timestretching modes in ableton are amazing but i work with individual hits (not breaks) and its too hard for me to tune the drums unless i hear them in the mix with processing. This has apparently been requested since sampler was introduced in version 3. sampler is fantastic except for that one thing which is really frustrating. you can split the output of individual hits in battery to different audio tracks tho, so it works basically as well.mks wrote: Ableton's inherent timestretch functions are quite advanced, so just drag the drums into an audio track set to the new tempo you want.
While we're at it i should mention Xfer Record's Nerve (http://www.xferrecords.com/products/nerve) which has some really good sample tweaking stuff.
