its probably gonna happen

heres what happened:

it was over facebook posts regarding my work..

a supervisor (that i actually get along really well with) had gone through my facebook, printscreened a load of posts that i made and printed them off and handed them to the store manager.

they included:

"im sick of this job now"

"onemans playing in town tonight and i have work in the morning 7am...fuck you argos"

and another one about a game me and my mate was playing in the stockroom with an inflatable ball.
and another 1 or 2 that i cant remember

they said it was gross misconduct because i posted about my workplace on a social networking site in a derogatory manner and i was in very "serious" trouble and it could easily lead to dismissal...

dont really have a leg to stand on because ive signed a contract saying that i agree not to talk about the company on any website in a negative way.
plus having my phone on me at work is obviously misconduct too...

im just fucking fuming that the stupid bitch actually went through my posts and printed them off...me and her actually got on quite well together.
wish i could sue the stupid tnuc for printing off my shit without permission or something lol..

is it just me or is that petty as fuck?
is this gonna fuck me over when i have an interview for another job?

Lesson is. Don't post about work like that on facebook.

Only job I had I got fired from anyway. Intimidated a customer or something.

Jesus that's so harsh... u should keep your profile to private anyway really/ don't add coworkers or managers. not be be a captain hindsight, but yeh I dunno what to say man, thats deep

yeah i know that now..didnt even cross my mind at the time though at all
and obviously didnt expect someone to go through months of my posts and print them off and then check them alongside that months/weeks timetables to see where exactly i was working and what time and in which department

yeah a lesson learned right there.
like i said though me and her got on really well so this come across as a fucking shock.

she doesnt know that i know its her though, on one of the screenshots it showed the mutual friends so thats how i know its her

I once had a girl report me to a manager for 'swearing on the shop floor'. I was new in the job and obviously its not a cool thing to do when there could be kids around but anyway, no one heard apart from her and I thought nothing of it. I was called into the managers office later that day and told to watch my language. They obviously knew she was a complete brown nosing tool so i got off lightly.

The girl sounds like shes power tripping as much as the dweeb that I worked with. You're better off not being around people like her anyway. Take the dismissal on the chin if it happens. If it doesn't, take your revenge. Forgive and forget is outdated.

facebook privacy lesson right there; it is fucking petty but you are according to contract the one that is in the wrong. if you wanna keep the job though think of examples of how you have been a useful employee to them and flaunt them

TBH you shouldn't be pissing about on FB at work no matter which way you cut it and that's the view they're going to take. But because they're jobsworths, they'll quite likely discipline you. I think you'll probably get a warning, maybe in writing. I'd be surprised if you were fired but I don't know the organisation or what the people are like you work with... you might have to appear to pretend to be sorry

Apparently quite a few jobs do a bit of "facebook checking" these days, i keep all my shit private even photos lol

but yeh, i got 2 disciplineries at work the other week for hanging up on customers... but id just made the company £10,000 so they didnt give a fuck

Unless you've got previous warnings i doubt they can sack you but your best bet is to apologise to management and point out how awesome you are. then pimp slap the hoe who reported you and delete her off fb.

yeh we had a lecture from this guy at credit swisse who told us to make our fb private so no pr person for prospective jobs could look at our drunk pics/statuses

What annoys me about this, is someone was paid, probably a large sum of money, on telling people the obvious and how to do the straightforward.

yeah i know im in the wrong and shouldnt have but still...harsh
and the store manager said theres a high chance ill be dismissed but for the hearing they have to bring down a manager from another store and the verdict is upto him

antlion i dont think that its illegal at all mate

and i know...after i delete the bird who grassed me up i deleted another person,

one of those suspicious people that obviously have a profile picture from google images and have 5 friends and never posted anything ever...

i once complained about a certain customer on facebook to a friend, and then it turns out that certain customer is friends with that person on facebook. fucking par. nothing happened because of it though.

haha, had to write a guy up today because he said he was going to "knock" someone's (a coworker's) "head off." he didn't even say it directly to the coworker, but to a manager. undoubtedly in passing, as just an expression of how frustrated he was. i guess he thought it was all good. til today.
