I'm a Dj/Producer from Belfast, definitely not the busiest place when it comes to dubstep :u: , but I've played Pubstep a few times, no events coming up for it but think it's coming back later in the year. There's another night called Bloodsport that's more house-edged but it plays some deeper dubstep and a bit of grime, Swindle and Terror Danjah both played recently. Also a night called Pressure I'm playing at next weekend, never been but apparently it's all things bass.

All I know that's happening about here anyway

Laveries used to have dubstep nights afaik, prolly more filth orientated tho but still.

Anyway, the bunker, which is the place in lavs that it was held, is now converted into a cocktail bar.

I'm always going through that way, give me a shout if you want to do a night or something! :)
Always love introducing music to new venues.

I would love even a monthly dubstep night in Belfast, just something regular!

This country really can be behind the times. I know Belfast's music scene can be quite extensive, but there's such a lack of bass it's unbelievable!

man theres plenty of bass nights in belfast, theres none dedicated strictly to dubstep because people would get the wrong impression and turn up expecting some skrillex blowout. Ecker (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ecker/196111173733042) are probably the ones who've been around the longest, they used to have a residency in the menagerie and they brought over people like submerse, gemmy and brackles. other than ecker there is acroplane, pressure and bloodsport, there was pubstep yes, but it isnt happening anymore as the guys running it have gone separate ways. One of whom i often do b2b sets with and the other now runs Bloodsport which ive played at. Fact is there are a shiltload of bass nights in belfast, in the last couple of months weve had jackmaster, hudson mohawke, el-b, doc daneeka and many others. The problem is not enough people know/care about this music here for it. every night i go i see the same faces and its rare that it would be full capacity (altho jackmaster and hudmo sold out before 10:30 ha) If you wanna know about some nights coming up here id be happy to let ya know when theyre happening

belfast bass nights that are happening soon would be
pressure presents baobinga, 18th june
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=166000023460928

Acroplane's 5th birthday with UNTOLD 1st july
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=223527577666343

and then the one im most excited for, FRENCH FRIES!! 15TH JULY :) (not just because im playing at this one tho ha)
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=147321025341648

if you could spread the word about the french fries one it'd be much appreciated, it would be such a shame if it wasnt packed out for someone like french fries!

If its anyone's bag, Nero are playing in stiff kitten on sat 13th Aug - £10 admission.

I know most of you like the deeper side of dubstep, but if you swing both ways, there's the info.
