I think live means they will be DJ'ing live, as otherwise it means people like Mary Anne Hobnob will be producing beats live as well.. :?

yeah they've put dmz & loefah as 'live' somewhere as well. i think it's just a misunderstanding

it's going to be sick, i can't wait. i want to spend quite a bit of time in the techno tent cause i've never really listened to any, sunday is all about the dubstep though blatantly

Where exactly is this festival? I gather that it's not confirmed yet, but is it safe to narrow it down to... england? southern england?

This will be my 4th one, looks like a decent enough line up. Overkill on it as usual, Techno tent is a bit limited but I happen to like the mnus style minimal and the detroit stuff so I'm pretty happy. Plus Bangface, which was amazing last year. Their whole 'neo-rave' thing sounds a bit indie ironic pisstake, but it's actually sick to death. Vibert + Ragga Twins plus proper Jungle and some a small splash of breakcore sillyness.
The ultimate Live Neo-Rave sound-clash... Original dubplates rescued by Bang Face, remastered by Vibert, with live MCs Flinty Badman and Deman Rockers
NICE.

Main Stage is ridiculous though, it's like 5 'live' breaks acts, and they got Andy C as their token DnB presence. So they got the most expensive DJ to play boring DnB. Great.

Got to work on the whole meeting Forum heads at festivals thing, Bloc was a pretty poor show. It was quality not quantity I guess.

I reckon they've just add "(live)" on the end of a load of acts... I'd be interested to see if any of the dubstep boys are gonna do something live tho.
I've seen Vex'd "live" which was basically decks + FX ... the only dubstep related peeps I know of doing proper live stuff are myself, Boxcutter, Geiom, Bass Clef and Atki2/Monkeysteak.

Dubplates are tasty and all but I really dig the control and spontaneity of live performance.

We always tell the promoter to put it down as decks + fx, rather than "live". But invariably they put down live, regardless. I guess they like the way it looks on the flyer. I don't consider it a live show, in the band sense, nor do I try and convince people otherwise. Still it's more than a straight dj set.

Besides, the decks are gone now, we're both rocking laptops. I miss the dubplates but there's so much more creativity on laptop.
