Who would you like to do a producer Q&A, and why?

Post by wub » Wed May 25, 2011 8:06 am

It's been a while since we've had one of these - who would you like to see do a DSFP Q&A session, and what would you like to ask them?

(BTW - I spoke with Koan Sound yesterday; they are happy to do a Q&A but will be in a couple of months due to prior commitments)

Tunnidge. Because he is not only the nicest guy on the planet, but also a fantastic producer who has stayed true to his underground roots. Also, I want to know how he made the bass from "7 breaths" so badly I could peel off my own skin and make a hat with it.......

Kromestar because his music makes my brain explode. His production and mix downs in his tunes are always top notch and he still inspires me today.. Or VIVEK/Requake :D

Mala - Because he is one of the best producers in this scene. I would love to find out his work flow and how he goes about doing things. I dont think he spends long on making bass patches but more about melodies. His tracks are very musical and he appears to make them very fast.

Darqwan - I would love to know how he goes about making his drums and his processing. His sample usage is really amazing to me.

Would be cool to know how they start a track, what are they thinking before they start also. Do they know what the track will be like before they have started or do they make a groove and go from there etc. I could spend hours picking the brains tbh.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

I agree, Mala or Darqwan. But I'm guessing that is going to be difficult.

Burial ... but that's like asking Jesus for an interview.

I have contact for Darqwan. If enough people on here say they would like to hear from him then I can go to him and see what he says, fingers crossed.

So, please send me a signal if you are interested in hearing from Darqwan!!! :4:

I'm sorry.. but I'd actually really like Skrillex to do a Q&A. It would be intresting to see how he responds to a full-on DSF interrogation.
