Nero's Dubstep Symphony

Post by BassSaber » Tue Jun 07, 2011 2:23 am

Has anyone seen this???

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00hdsyn

It was already posted in the General Dubs section but I reposted it here because I thought some of you production guys might be interested

Gives me goosebumps when I watch it, and they're not just playing brostep, they're playing DMZ, Burial, Joker...

Soundcloud

That's the soundcloud for anyone who doesn't like watching the video but like it to load quickly

And to make it production-related, if anyone's watching the video, what programme are Nero using? You see it briefly

It was ok, but what did it have to do with dubstep?

Am I missing something....?

Yeah, I caught that but what else? I mean it sounded great, the orchestra sounded great, but where was the dubstep reference? Apart from them playing innocence over some strings..... To be honest Ive only heard Innocence once before as Nero really arent my thing so was it the case that they replaced some of the synths with strings? :|

I agree JFK.

It`s symphony with familiar dubstep sounds.
It would be better if they`d become more creative.
Why have 17 violinistse playing the same or similar chords?
Why not create a totally anarchistic soundscape.
they have the instruments and training to do it.

At some points I imagined the mission impossible theme.
That`s a bad thing imo.

Like I said in the other thread, the dubstep part was lost in translation here. It just sounded like an orchestra.
It was epic, but literally had fuck all to do with dubstep

No yoys, no yayas.
I want distorted, anarchistic soundscapes.

"Thought he might be in a hoody or something"

No stereotyping then....
