this was a massive night on some shockout-for-hours-on-end type business. :o :o

500 dubsteppers crammed into the foundry on a tuesday night during exam period in a student venue- wtf?!?

more details when i've got time, but safe to say that sheffield is now well and truly in the grip of the virus. the difference in the crowd in terms of numbers present and knowledge of the music from when i warmed up for the warrior dubs tour a while back to last night was phenomenal.

big up all present, and especially out to mala for an electrifying set.

Yeh it was big, large up the C90 boys, big set. Mala was fire as usual. Anyone know the second tune he dropped? Proper dark and dubby, loved it. Miracles sounded wicked.
Got quite afew photos, passed em on to grievous angel for the blog, hopefully they will surface at some point. Taken on a shitty 2mpixel camera tho so they aint too hot.
Hold tight the two lads next to me at the front on the left, proper avin it  gwan steel city cru!

Wow this was great!

Mala was very deep and dubby and beautiful. Jah War still rips it up so bad......And the coki techy one.

C90 boys were real good too. Have seen em before and not really paid attention but the mixing was spot on. Think I said hi to you Julian (Dee's pal, actually that was at Plaid wasn't it..)

That was such a seal of approval for dubstep in Sheff like u say...i guess there will be more at TTC. It would be easy to have someone in the small room and some rubbish dnb in the big room to draw the punters.

Big ups for booking Distance, unfortunately am going to miss it be he should be great and DNR bar is a very funny venue.

wicked night, great stuff from the c90 boys to start with (standardly) followed by mala on proper meditative form, few really nice dubby cuts which i enjoyed... system was sounding weighty for the back room aswell, gotta prefer it in there jus for the closeness i reckon even if the sound isnt as big as the main room. crowd was big and enthusiastic aswell, i remember juliun c90 doin a dubstep set at a ttc residents nite about this time last year, about twenty of us on the dance floor, how things have changed...next time lets have some air con though i was sweating my nuts off by the end of mala... hold tight to the guy wit the broken foot, didnt see the injury to start with and assumed you'd just brought a chair up cos you knew you werent gonna be moving from in front of the speaker, bravado style... . hold tight the sheffield souljas, big night....

Ha, didn't realise he had a broken foot! Thought he was just doing some sitting bass meditation.

The guy on the stool was my mate sam, recently diagnosed with compartment sydrome. I'd never heard of it, its fuckin rough - a bunch of muscles in his leg came loose and died, could be a permanent disability.
He's spent the last couple of weeks in and out of hospital, proper soldier for headin out for a dance. Big up the dubstep cripple every time!
