good stuff - nice bass drop
Re: Cathedral Dubstep - Whisper
Hey, I'm very new to dubstep but I really like your stuff. I really don't know enough to say anything specific but I do like it. These definelty aren't the correct terms for this but I like that it's not too slow (as in boring), or too fast, if thats means anything XD.
What DAW did you use to make that? (It probably doesn't matter, I'm just wondering).

Thanks guys
I used FL Studio 8 (yeah a bit old I'm getting the new one right now) with Nexus and Massive and the tempo was 132 bpm. It was originally meant to be a deadmau5 faxing berlin style track until a friend suggested I put some wobbles in it.

Thanks for the information!
Are you going to be posting more dubstep on that youtube account? If so, I will definetly subscribe!
And how long did it take for you to get to that "level" of dubstep? Has it been years, I'm a little confused because that is your first dubstep and you have FL studio 8? Maybe they just come out often, but 10 is out now I believe., or maybe you can still buy 8?
Thanks again.

Re: Cathedral Dubstep - Whisper
I was given FL 8 for free from a friend maybe a year ago, so I just used what I had to work with. If you look on my youtube channel the song called "Ravestorm" is the last time I touched FL and it was in March. I really don't have much experience with the program but watching youtube tutorials seems to go a long way.
Personally I think I still need to work a lot on my mastering but have been receiving a lot of good feedback about this track so far, so I'll definitely be getting FL 10 and working on new stuff as soon as possible.

Sure ill look right now, was on vacation for a few days
Re: Cathedral Dubstep - Whisper
nice work! I really like the breakdown into the drop, it's got that deadmau5 sound..drops not too overwhelming or abrasive to the ear either while still sounding 'heavy' ....reposted the youtube to a few groups on facebook
any chance you'd share a copy?!

Re: Cathedral Dubstep - Whisper
I'd say my biggest influences are deadmau5 and kaskade, so my song came out pretty different compared to other stuff.
I'll upload it to mediafire tonight for anyone who is interested. I really appreciate the feedback guys!

Re: Cathedral Dubstep - Whisper
well i personally think its a great song man you did really well, i would recommend trying to be as progressive but in less time, most people dont want to wait two minutes for an intense drop. Or if you prefer, which some people do, to keep the intro that long i would recommend trying to put some melody sooner. Just my thoughts =)

Re: Cathedral Dubstep - Whisper
good point a real life friend of mine who likes dubstep but not progressive actually complained about the intro being too long, ill definitely take that into consideration next time!
