Surrounded by a mystery as or more enigmatic that the one that surrounds Salem, the young Brit who works under the name Gold Panda has managed to climb to the top of contemporary electronic music without having to resort to dubstep. In fact, one could say that the music by this man from Essex couldn’t be farther from dubstep; it dives into IDM with melodic finishes and touches of psychedelia, the indietronic by Morr Music and exotic influences from all around the planet. “Lucky Shiner” is his first official release after a series of work for Various Productions and Make Mine.
