Ableton Suite 8

Post by Hexodus » Mon Jun 27, 2011 10:55 pm

Just curious what ppl have to say about the Suite version of Ableton 8. Is it worth the extra $$ for the additional synths/instruments/fx?

Nah, just spend the money on some 3rd party plugs - I don't use Ableton anymore but can't stand the stock plugs.

What kind of plugs would you guys recommend? I don't care to pay if they are actually quality. Of course free/cheap ones are always good too if they are decent.

EQ and Compression-wise you can't go wrong with FabFilter Pro-Q and Pro-C, recently got the IK Multimedia Klassik reverb set which is absolutely awesome, really nice sounding stuff, PSP Vintage Warmer is an awesome little saturation/limiter plug-in that I pretty much slam on everything. Instrument-wise Operator isn't actually that bad (the one that comes with suite 8), but personally I prefer the good old classic NI Massive for getting nice juicy thick basslines.
