Lookin to study in England! Where to?

Post by Lectric » Tue Jun 28, 2011 9:06 pm

Hey ninjas. So I am entering my final year of high school now, and have already made up my mind as to what schools/areas of study im gonna go into when i graduate. However, all the choices ive made are within Canada, and i told my parents im really keen on studying in England. Theyre down with the idea as my best friend is wanting to go and already got an advance acceptance into U of Liverpool, so i wont be alone. Im probably not gonna live in dorms, and i do plan on staying in England after school. So my question is? which city is the best for me to head off to? Heres what im looking for:

I have no budget restraints whatsoever.
Im from a snobby city in Canada so somewhere slightly upscale with an urban vibe would be awesome.
No suburbs. forfuckssake no more suburbs
Near liverpool university. not sure where exactly it is if theres another city nearby or whatnot.

thats basically it :D i dont want any silly posts, i just want to hear from some residents where they think would be best for me to live?

With these two factors in mind, get a flat in Chelsea and get choppered in every day....
'Slightly upscale' rules out the entirety of Liverpool :P

trust me, you don't wanna live in Chelsea. If you want somewhere upscale with an urban vibe best to live in central London, like Pimlico/Victoria area or near Camden/Bloomsbury area. I don't really know about upscale areas in Liverpool with an urban vibe, but if you're going to university, you don't wanna live somewhere upscale, you'll miss all the fun!!

I just want somewhere as much alike as the gated community i live in now  Ive always wanted a nice flat in london so that sounds good seeing as it is kinda at the heart of the country you could say. although im not sure how nearby Croydon is as i know thats really where the dubstep scene is and i really want to be a part of that

Nah, I think you're thinking of the chelsea side of Pimlico. The rest of Pimlico (IMO) has a completely different vibe. And Victoria is nothing like Chelsea, way more of a 'urban city' feel.
