Re: Replacing The Ground Wire on a Technic 1210
Not too hard I'd imagine, I replace the RCAs on mine without having done any soldering before, just a youtube video.
If it's snapped half way just solder the two halves together, it'd be easier than opening it up.

its snapped right at the point where it goes into the inside of the deck..

Might as well open it up and have a look, if you can do it yourself it'll save your money having to pay someone else.
Youtube has a few videos that might help.

Re: Replacing The Ground Wire on a Technic 1210
this happened to me a while ago, i googled technics repairs but took me ages to find somewhere, ended up at an old guitar shop in crystal palace, i watched the guy do it, it didnt look to complex, just opened it up and soldered a new wire in if memory serves me right, if your good with that sort of thing have a go if not have a look about in your local area! good luck bro!
Re: Replacing The Ground Wire on a Technic 1210
how much did it cost you mate? Ive been quoted £20 or £50 to service it fully and the repair will be included.

What if only the 2 pronged tip of the ground wire is missing? should i try to replace the whole wire?

you can just wrap the bare wire round whatever you're connecting it to. the prongs just make it easier to connect it to something.

Also you can get the same metal forks from an electronics store and solder the wire on if you'd rather...
