Older School Kind of Dubby Business

Post by Bresson » Mon Jul 25, 2011 11:40 am

I don't hear tracks much like this anymore, it seems its all too deep or too hard/obnoxious. So I made one:

Very nice sir.

I would put a touch of reverb (plate verb springs to mind, a delay on that as well maybe) on the wobbles intensifying into the breakdown to add a bit more drama and remove the snare from the drums in the intro.

Oh alright, I'll give it a shot. I'm really on a dubstep tip lately (im mostly a dnb producer), so I'll try it with a couple tunes I'm working on right now. Thanks :D

my advice would be to cut out a lot more of the low end on everything except your kick drum and sub bass, and give your percussion and wobbles some reverb and you will have a very nice track :)

1point5, I liiiike it, reminds me of the pre-robostep 2008ish dubstep, I'm thinking Ginz, Caspa, Joker. That hip-hop trill has that gangsta hip-hop influence, like Purple City (Joker & Ginz).

Hahah you talking about I'm Back, Jack? Did it as kind of a dubstep tribute to some of my favorite hiphop of all time- the dirty south. Unfortunately the two tunes I sampled are extremely sub par examples of the genre.

hahaha oh gotcha I though you were talking about a tune I did on my page.

1point5, trill is hiphop slang for "true + real" aka gangsta as fuck

I'd lose a bit of res on that wobble. When you've just got the deep sub wobble it really pushes the song along, but it doesn't have the same effect for me when it's up in the midrange.
