Okay, the reason i ask is because i never hear or read anybody talk about him yet a few of his tunes have millions of views on Youtube and one of them has like 6+ Million which is pretty massive if you think about it (for reference points, Anti War Dub has like 250K and Mt Eden 20+Million). I know Youtube views mean nothing in terms of anything important, but it gives you at least a sort of idea of who is "popular" or getting attention. And he has 200K+ Listeners on Last.fm, which is even more than the likes of Skrillex and those Circus clowns who you cant stop hearing about (Loefah has like 60K and and Burial has like 400k if you need more reference points) . I just think its a bit weird that there is this guy who makes tunes that accompany large numbers but you never really see him being acknowledged in discussions. The rare times i read or hear about him is when in discussions about his live shows that gather massive crowds - this just adds to the bizarreness though, i mean, who are these people? Who goes to see him? Is this some sort of cult? Do they talk in code and meet in secluded places ? Just odd. Im thinking hes just pretty big in North America only which is why i rarely ever hear his name. But i dunno...

Oh and i realise (from searching his name here) that he gets hate for being a bandwagon jumper (apparently he was a big in the breaks scene, but when you consider the fact about 16 people follow that scene (and about 9 of them make the tunes) it doesn't matter) and making shit tunes but you dont ever get silly defenders of his stuff like you would Skrillex, Borgore or Funtcase etc. Which just furthers the question;

I don't like him but his tunes aren't anywhere near as bad as most brostep producers

only tune of his ive heard is Bass Head and i thought it was a massive load of shit, so i try to stay away.

Each to their own. I like some of his older bits.

Anyway Youtube views etc don't mean shit. People use bots and marketing companies to get the views up. Once they reach a certain point they come up as suggestions and at the top of lists when you enter a word to search for something. Bullshit I know, but that's what goes on.

A lot of people in the US listen to Bassnectar. He plays a lot of festivals and the mp3-blogs post his stuff regularly.
