Shipping turntables, mixer, records etc

Post by ElliotPCA » Wed Aug 10, 2011 4:20 pm

Moving to Berlin in September for a year and obviously want to take my setup (2x1210s, Pioneer DJM700, etc) with me...would also want to take my records with me, since I'm not a Serato man. Does anyone know of any reliable courier services, or indeed if it's worth it? DHL seem decent. I obviously don't want my stuff to just sit there collecting dust for a year whilst I'm in one of the greatest cities for tunes in Europe, but on the flip side if my stuff's just going to get totally wrecked en route then it's not worth it either...decisions!

mail the mixer, take a good sized pile of records and your needles/headphones etc. as carry-on baggage, and leave the decks at home. in a city the size of berlin there must be some good deals on used decks which you could resell before leaving. i can only imagine the what the shipping cost on a pair of technics is.
