Last month we checked out LFTF interviewee Cedaa‘s new EP Jasmin–a strange but enjoyable 9-track album that combined elements of juke with even deeper, more sedated basslines. We loved the whole record, but there was one particular track that had us completely loosing our minds. Some dude by the name of Sines had remixed the EP’s title track, thrown an old school UGK voice sample over it, and renamed it “Sines’ Slabs On Swangas Remix”. Um, what? Bass music mixed with Texas hip-hop? It was too good to be true. Our first thought was, “please, please let there be more where this came from.” Well after doing some light digging–another H-Town peppered remix here, an unbelievable mix for Percussion Lab there–we knew this guy Sines was the real deal. So we reached out to him, and just like every other artist we interview or get a mix from, we sent him a straight fanboy email explaining how much are in love with his music. Luckily for us, he didn’t find us weird (which is what usually happens), and agreed to make us the most slow tippin’, slab swangin’, purp smokin’, lean sippin’ mix possible. Get ready folks, things are about to really weird…in a damn good way.
