Need a game recommendation (360)
I'm pretty much done with JC2, so looking for something new and wanted some ninja advice. Would be something in the open world sandbox format (JC2, RDR, Prototype etc), fairly hefty role play/character development style of things. Was thinking New Vegas but tbh would prefer to wait for them to release the special edition with all the add ons like they did for Fallout 3. And real time combat, so no Final Fantasy.
Any suggestions? Open to slightly older games too, cheaper the better.

The Skate games are open world(ish). No character progression though, but they're pretty good.
You tried the fable games maybe? They're alright, although they have a lot of problems.

Red Factions was alright.
Borderlands was enjoyable.
I`m talking more sandbox style games.

Re: Need a game recommendation (360)
id definately say new vegas regarless if the packs arent out yet, you will enjoy it enough to just play the whole story, and when your done buy one expansion, or read reviews on which ones are worth the money, theres a couple more hours of gameplay, and in fallout you can always replay the game oppositely from the first time. EG: be a bad guy this time instead of a good guy, instead of doing a bunch of stupid missions for this bitch to finish her book (moira brown) just shoot the bitch....which is what i plan on doing my 2nd time around in FO3. i did all that shit for her going to a bunch of diff places telling her what they are like, and all that bitch gave me was ONE MINI NUKE. I was pretty pissed, i was gonna slit her throat right there, but that stupid indian guy that protects her was staring at me telling me "you better get out of here" when i had my powerfist aimed right at moira, so i just left and went to the bar....
yeah

Re: Need a game recommendation (360)
no use of making a separate thread so i kind of hijack this one! i bought 360 from a friend cause he needed money and was selling it dirt cheap. i bought just one game for it, saboteur, and loved it. i've played it quite through a long time ago though so i'd like a new gaming experience. no scifi/fantasy bullshit, something with good playability(controls) and lots of action. preferably also a bit on the older side so it's possible to get it 2nd hand

Re: Need a game recommendation (360)
Have you played Mass Effect 1 & 2? If not, consider them recommended!
I realise they're not very "sandbox-y" but they're damn good roleplaying games.

Gone off Red Faction since no. 2, Borderlands got about 20mins of play before I got rid of it, wasn't a fan of the graphics.
Might just say bollocks to it and get the latest/cheapest Raw Vs. Smackdown and be done with it

Re: Need a game recommendation (360)
and +1 for skate, even people who don't skate/haven't skated get enjoyment out of it.gnome wrote:Red dead redemption?
L.A Noire?
Also, been pondering getting a WWF(or WWE as they call it now.....) game, so many good memories of WCWvsNWO revenge on the n64 and Smackdown on ps1 hah!

Far Cry 2 is what I'm into right now. The world is huge. And the characters are pretty well done. It's not to heavy of an RPG though, it's more about exploration.
Also:
Bully Scholarship Edition
Crackdown 1
Also, you might want to check out the 2d Castlevania platformers on XBLA. They're cheap, non-linear, and have heavy RPG elements.

I just drove up to things in my jeep and gunned them all down from the rear mounted gun.
Only hopped off occasionally to search for a guy hiding.
Nothing like the original Farcry which was a genre defying game.
Maybe there's a choice Wub, Farcry.
Or even Crysis, the first one.

Re: Need a game recommendation (360)
Fallout 3 is great, can pretty much go anywhere and do whatever you want, new vegas is pretty much the same. Oblivions good aswell and both the mass effects. Rainbow six las vegas 2 is one of the best shooters out there.

RDR, done and dusted it. All rankings, single player acheievements etc etc. Same for Undead Nightmare.
La Noire, tbh I've yet to hear anything about it thats made me want to get it.
Yeah, loved FO3, got the game of the year edition with all add on packs up front so just made it massive to play through.JBoy wrote:Fallout 3 is great, can pretty much go anywhere and do whatever you want, new vegas is pretty much the same..
