[VID] Octatrack Dubstep - Turning Samples Into Basslines

Post by GV1 » Fri Aug 19, 2011 5:25 pm

I'm in no way experienced with this hardware I've just been reading the manual to a couple days. Only started using it properly today. There is a sub on it but you cant here it with the camera quality. You can at the end though.

Tried to upload HD but it was taking forever and timing out. I added a little improvisation beat at the end.

:W:

Been really interested in the Octatrack. Any way you can upload a higher quality audio-only track so we can hear how good the native audio output sounds, maybe on Soundcloud or something?

Thanks again for sharing.

Very cool. I'd disappear for a while if I had the Octatrack.

Sick piece of hardware but for the price, I'd expect the buttons to sound less Made-in-china-ish.

My camera does make it seem a lot louder than it is, but I get what you mean. They do feel like your banging an SP1200.

this sounds great man! what have you actually done to the sample tho? like if i wanted to recreate this effect manually what would i do?

I was messing with the start time, repeat, and lfo as well as the pitch. I can't remember exactly what I did, it was actually my first time messing with the samples. I'm more comfortable with it now though, so when I get a free hour I'll do another one showing exactly what I do.

I would love to see you mess around with more dubstep samples within the octatrack.
