Components of a Good Dubstep Remix?

Post by 5yntaX-3rr0R » Mon Sep 05, 2011 10:48 am

Technically, this is about a WiP, but I'm risking a topic because I'm looking for more than just feedback

I'm working on a dubstep remix of another one of my tracks, but was originally a rock song. And honestly, I'm stuck. I don't know that much about making dubstep and I can't seem to please myself with anything I come out with. I like the way the verses sound, but for some reason, I just can't seem to work any other part to sound remotely good. There are a lot of songs that I want to turn to dubstep, but before I can do this one right, I don't even want to attempt another one.

Here is the original.

And here is my remix

What am I missing?

Both songs were done in FL Studio 10 and the remix is relying heavily on NI Massive.
