sound system needed to throwdown some dubstep for ~50?

Post by rasputins » Tue Sep 06, 2011 8:06 am

Im going to be attempting to blast some sick dubstep to a room of about 50 heads. Any recommendations as to the minimal setup to have dubstep sound best for a medium sized room with 50 or so people in it.

Ive only played dubstep for myself so im looking for some tips as to what I absolutely need to have. please dont give me specific brand name products just basic pieces of equipment (for the dj as well)

dude for only 50 heads all u really need is probably about 4 good 12 inch subs, and maybe 2 speakers for the mid range higher frequencies

Don't know how medium that room is but 4 subs is quite a lot isn't it?

I'd just place the speakers on 180cm or above that should help fill the room.

lol. You ought to do fine with some hifis paired with a sub.
My friend threw a party with his studio monitors/soundcard. Sounded very nice, but lacked weight.
Or just take out your Android and play dubstep ringtones for everyone. The onboard speakers pretty good.

my 10"s push weight. I don't think more inches is a must for hitting that spot, in this case (ah, innuendos abound =p)..
Especially for a room of 50 heads. 18"s?? i thought that was a joke heh.. I'd just try to pair a couple of nice tens with the right amp. sub bass from a 12" sure. I mean, most car subs are 12s and plenty of those systems are suitably chest-rattling, far as i've heard.
