Freshmore's third release has armed itself with two of KingThing's freshest garage weapons, backing them up with two original takes on the producer's tracks. Both tunes roll out the red carpet for savory percussion and melody. “Annie's Mac” keeps the listener's attention occupied with female vocals and catchy synth lines, while “Queen's Hive” presents some speaker wobbling sub bass. Solid productions like these are not foreign to the UK producer, and his other tracks effortlessly prove it. The pounding rhythm keeps the tunes sounding cohesive and energetic.
The two remixes offer a new perspective on KingThing's tracks. Cedaa's remix of “Annie's Mac” carries a recognizable Balkan flavor. With horns that sound like an Ocean of Funk. Milyoo's flip on “Queen's Hive”, on the other hand, submerses the listener in a completely different atmosphere of depth and hypnotic rhythm. Both reinterpretations don't fall behind their prototypes and both offer something new to the listener.
Freshmore's catalog grows bigger and stronger with the must-buy Cassini EP.
