Sound Liberation Front and New York-based record label Subatomic Sound are teaming up to present Dub Invasion Festival, a 10-day long excursion into the international musical phenomenon called dub.
The festival will take place in New York and Boston from September 7-16, and will include shows by world-class performers, including Mad Professor, Adrian Sherwood, Brother Culture, Twilight Circus Dub and many others.
On Thursday Sept. 15 Good Life will host DJ sets and performances by Mad Professor and Twilight Circus Dub, with opening pressure provided by NYC's Subatomic Sound System & Q-Mastah, as well as locals Codiac & Spliffolian of the SUBduction crew.
Since the early 80s, Mad Professor has been one of the leading figure of dub’s new generation. His legendary Ariwa studio in South London has been the epicenter of dub’s foray into the digital age and became widely influential for the development of UK’s bass music culture.
The Twilight Circus Dub Sound System is the reggae project of Ryan Moore, former bassist of the Legendary Pink Dots. With 19 full length albums and 20 vinyl singles released since 1995, Ryan Moore/Twilight Circus has received International recognition as one of the top producers in reggae and dub active today.
