LSS @ HIFI CLUB, LEEDS – BACK FOR THE NEW TERM!!!

A new term and a newly refurbished venue can mean only one thing: this year LSS @ Hifi is well and truly going in!

Since the legendary Hifi Club has recently had a revamp we knew it was time to step things up a gear. That’s why this year we’re bringing bigger acts playing exclusive extended sets! Despite this, we’re still keeping in our tradition of bringing you some of the most exciting up and coming producers and DJs you may be less familiar with.

So to kick things off we present...


ZED BIAS aka MADDSLINKY (Zed Audio // Sirkus)

The man that brought us the Garage anthem ‘Neighbourhood’ and has remixed everyone from Zinc to Destiny’s Child is back once again with another smash – the incredible ‘Dancing’ featuring RnB legend Omar. Often touted as one of the key influential figures for the Dubstep phenomenon, Zed Bias has spent over a decade perfecting the dark, Bass driven Garage and 2-Step sounds that have become synonymous with modern electronic music.

Simply put, Zed Bias is one of the forefathers of the global underground scene with a wealth of alias’s, a truckload of releases and a record bag crammed with exclusives, rarities and remixes. His DJ sets are a perfect indicator of his deep knowledge of Bass music switching between Rare Groove, House, Garage, Grime, Funky and even classic Reggae riddims!

The man is a true DJ’s DJ and needless to say the prospect of a 2-hour set in such an intimate venue such as Hifi is getting us very, very excited! For anyone who saw him at Outlook Festival this year you already know this - if not, make sure you catch him this time round!


REME + JO KIRA (Square One)

Providing brilliant support for our maiden event of the term is the exciting Square One residents Jo Kira & Reme. Jo Kira has long been a familiar face across the Leeds House scene with releases on Venga Digital and Freek Records. One of the few established female acts in the male dominated world of DJing, her night Square One at Wire has hosted Night Slugs bosses L-Vis 1990 & Bok Bok and more recently Kingdom.

Playing back-to-back with this veteran of the scene is a local Leeds prodigy in the shape of Reme. After winning the LSS vs Bangerang DJ Competition back in May, we thought it only right to have his impressive DJ talent put on show once again. As the competition entry mix proves, Reme has got some mad skills for one so young – definitely one to watch so make sure you’re down early to bear witness!
