Whatever happened to using the word "Wonky"

Post by antipode » Wed Sep 28, 2011 10:48 am

I miss it. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy and nostalgic.

YES! ITS A GREAT WORD.
KODE9 mentions it in SONIC WARFARE, Wonky is the "RIFF" of electronic music.

Wonky is such a good word. I love music which is wonky too, non-quantized, shambling and erratic. Too much stuff is obvious and lacking in groove.

exactly this

i still use wonky all the time, especially to differentiate wonky hip hop beats type music from "regular" hip hop

People don't pay as much attention to Blackdown as much as a lot of people on DSF would like to think imo.

I still hear the word 'wonky' all the time by the way. Too much actually if I'm hoenst

Just poking fun. It's one of those words that means different things to different people and is funny when used to describe music, like chill or ambient
