Sounds from outer space will be fused with music as part of a Jodrell Bank festival celebrating Asian culture.

Echoes from the big bang, the sun’s solar wind and storms on Jupiter will be projected at the Asia Triennial Manchester 11 festival, which starts on Saturday.

The sounds of the universe will be combined with qawwali – an ancient devotional music of the Sufis
