Midi clip problem in ableton

Post by justanotherdj » Wed Oct 12, 2011 2:20 pm

So i write a melody or whatever in a midi clip, I then duplicate it to build the arrangement, but when I want to make a variation to it I can't as i'm only left with the notes I've already used, rather than the whole scale.

Does that make sense?

It just started happening today, anything I can do?

Cheers.

Have you chosen to fold the notes? It only selects the ones you've used and doesn't allow you to go further up the scale. When you double click on the sample, it will open at the bottom and beside the piano, you'll see the "Fold" button, click that and your full piano should open up.
