The Subs in my songs have always been pretty week but i thought i had fixed the problem with my last song. The song sounds great in my Car, house, and on Headphones. However, last night i heard my song played in a club for the first time and while it sounded okay, it didn't feel nearly as heavy as a track that came after it.
Currently my Sub is just a Sine Wave in massive a [-24] Pitch. i sidechained the Sub to the Kick for a small reduction in volume whenever the kick hits.
The Tune is in D with most of the Sub Being in either D3 or C3. from what ive read on these forums, This Is not the best key for a tune if you want a hard hitting bass. Should i Change the key of the entire tune? or is there a better way that i can make the sub compete? or do i just need to crank the Sub track up louder?
Here is the Tune in question. Sorry if its a bit Brostepish for your tastes, i make what i like.

Thanks for any help. - And Yes, i have read the Sub thread and most of the moneyshot thread. i try to retain most of it, but if i missed a key point feel free to point it out.

Re: Fixing my Sub to work in Clubs
I never go under C0 with subs, any lower and you can't hear it and it just loses its punch. I found my sub bass by mistake when i made an electro bass and took all the highs out of it just leaving the sub part. When a sub has a little distortion thrown on it it sits very nicely within the mix and doesn't overshadow anything. Then i have that sidechained to my kicks but only subtle so that it drops a little bit. I dunno if this will help but thats what i do. oh and keep that mofo mono!
Re: Fixing my Sub to work in Clubs
experiment... get paremetric eq2 up if your using FL to check your frequency, on massive open a sin-squ then put move it all the way to sin then move it towards squ SLIGHTLY for some warmth and presence. make use you change the voices to mono, low pass correctly. bazzinga, my sub changes per track but keep the waves simple

Re: Fixing my Sub to work in Clubs
I had your same problem when I first started spinning clubs too, it definitely helps to try your tunes out on a big system. The key of your tune definitely matters. For dubstep it should usually chill around E to Ab, unless you have a melody in a different key that hits those notes a lot. Another trick I do with my subs is add more harmonics to them. So I usually take a saw wave, put a little saturation then lowpass it at 100hz, makes it wayyyy more beefier. Hope this helps
