This Star Eyes mix is AWESOME: http://soundcloud.com/stareyes/star-eye ... garo-sparo
Star Eyes is known for many things, but you might as well call her Brooklyn's queen of heavy bass. Since the early '90s, the first lady of the Trouble & Bass crew been throwing down raw, dirty underground tracks everywhere from renegade raves to the biggest European festivals. Star Eyes calls her style "haunted house" - refusing to bow down to one genre, she creates an intense energy out of futuristic tracks from the worlds of 4/4, dubstep, garage, grime, bass, and beyond.
This bad girl has always loved low-end. For years, she was known in her native California as a premiere drum & bass selector, resident of San Francisco's award-winning Eklektic night, and the editor-in-chief of XLR8R Magazine (which she left in 2009 to pursue music full time). She was also part of the two-step/electro duo Syrup Girls, dubbed “New York’s best-kept secret” byNew Yorker music critic Sasha Frere-Jones. In 2006, she founded the world-renowned Trouble & Bass crew alongside Drop the Lime, and has released multiple original tracks for its signature label, including the Disappear EP, the White Gloves EP, and her forthcoming single, "The Night."
Star Eyes is has also released remixes for Michna, Creep, Hussle Club, Hanuman, Riviera, Lil’ Tal, and Funerals, as well as goth/industrial DJ mixes in collaboration with Psychic TV, Death in June, and Mishka NYC. She likes skeletons, Sharpies, strong coffee, the ocean, and staying up very late.
