Skream & Benga live.. Worth it?
Is it worth seeing Skream & Benga live nowadays? I was thinking I should just go because it's probably the closest thing to Dubstep I'm going to get in Canada (brostep infested man, it's crazy up here). I just don't want to hear Skrillex being dropped, it's going to kill me if I see Skream do that to me. :/

ad i will never go again to see them - unless they play very different.
i wish back the early dubplates of skream. deep dark and minimalistic... used to be...

i've seen them 3 times in the last year, once they were shite and played broey shit/skrillex etc - but that was glasto.
the other two times were sick. some of it a bit more tearout than you might like but still an awesome show, great night, great vibes etc.
however if the promoters generally put on excision/filth crap for their other then chances are you'll probably hate it - catering to the crowd and that

these threads are full of attitude for no fucking reason. go to youtube, and type in " skream benga live " . there's probably 250 live videos that give you your answer, faster than some hype thread title. we wouldn't be here discussing anything without skream.
Re: Skream & Benga live.. Worth it?
no arguing about how formative skream's work has been in the history of dubstep, but OP's question was asking about what kind of set you might expect to see from him & benga in north america, 2011. also a new member of the board so perhaps he isn't as versed in these kinds of threads that have already popped up.
ANYWAY- i'd say go. you may very well hear skrillex get dropped but, as you mentioned, the number of UK dubstep artists touring north america is fairly limited and the worst that will happen is you'll have seen them but been disappointed. at best you'll come away realizing chatting shit on dubstepforum means nothing and they still slammed their set with tunes like the ones mentioned above

Re: Skream & Benga live.. Worth it?
whether or not that is the case i really didnt enjoy their set at DMZ (and it was not just me who thought that), obviously he's a legend in the scene and has put out some game-changing tunes that i still love. i just didnt enjoy his set at DMZ, OP asked for opinions and i gave mine, i fail to see why this is so problematic, this is a discussion board after allseckle wrote:we wouldn't be here discussing anything without skream.

I Just Called (To Say I Love You) is a fucking shit song.
Do I disregard all of Stevie Wonder's back catalogue and called him a blind cunt? Of course not.
Doesn't stop me thinking that's a shit song though.
