VST EFFECTS

Post by click me » Mon Oct 31, 2011 1:15 am

I have been producing for a little while now, trying out different DAWs and stuff. so far I have been really liking my workflow on FL studio, but I find there EFFECTS Vsts are really lacking. What are some good flanger, chorus, distortion, and just some overall ones that are really cool. I don't have a price range set, but I want to keep my budget kinda cheap. thanks for your help.

I like D16 Silverline effects.

Classics has a nice flanger, filter, chorus, and reverb for free. CamelCrusher is also a decent free distortion plugin

anything from camel audio is prime. It's a little bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion. Camel space has great saturation and exiter, as well as a great gate and decent reverb. Camel Phat is probably my most used distortion tool thought. It's not as in depth as izotope trash, but it's great for adding some subtle distortion on top of more subtle distortion. Fruity Waveshaper can do wonders if you know how to use it. I don't have any devoted flange unit (other than the ones in camel phat and camel space and the stock ones in fl) so I can't really speak on that. I've heard waves metaflange is pretty good but haven't had much time to check it out myself.

http://www.kvraudio.com/plugin-ranks.php -> check this site out. They have tons of plugins and plugin rankings, and a great database to search for plugins by what type it is and cost. I've also found a crap load of free plugins on there. Number 1 source for finding new plugins imo.

audio damage for sure! there plugins are like 50 bucks each which is amazing value. Sausage fattener is cheap and easy to use.
I rate the TAL stuff too. I still use tal-dub 3 a lot. There are plenty of free effects you can get on pc. Id since those before spending too much money. Ascian's drum tutorial he mentions some freeware that looked sick, but I'm on mac and couldn't get on it but i reckon you should check it out. http://bedroomproducersblog.com/ has posts on "the top 10 delays" etc and i found the freebies i grabbed from there to be useful.
