free ableton plug ins, vsts for mac?

everytime i download one it says cannot open and choose application? evne though i got ableton gwanin! y is this!

iv only just got a mac after being on pc for time and dont have a fucking clue wats goin on! ahaha any help would be much appreciated!

Yeah it is!

Most VSTs that are available for free only work with the old PPC version Macs. Some, if they know what's going on, have been recompiled as Universal Binary and will work on the Mac Intel processors.

If you go to kvraudio.com, you can search for Mac VST/AU plugins that are compiled for Universal Binary, and you can search for commercial/demo/freeware plugins, as well.
