I wouldn't put transient shaping in the frequency sculpting category.blinx wrote:eqing? or transient shaping?
To the OP - I'm not exactly sure what you're looking to understand. Simply put - that's what EQ'ing is.
160 bpm roller - for all the skankas.

He could be referring to additive synthesis.subfect wrote:I wouldn't put transient shaping in the frequency sculpting category.blinx wrote:eqing? or transient shaping?

Re: Frequency Sculpting?
Yeah but I wouldn't consider that sculpting. Take clay work for example - you keep adding on clay until you're ready to sculpt. Sculpting with frequencies generally refers to -removing- frequencies, either via eq or filters.
160 bpm roller - for all the skankas.

Re: Frequency Sculpting?
Sorry havent got back here ina few days....internet down..
@Zuzz - Looks Dope! Downloading now! Thank You!
someone told me to try Frequency Sculpting(to clean up my mix) a while back, which is in essence EQ'ing yes, but i was told to try to get all the sounds in my mix to sit better in their frequency ranges, and for some reason I am just not getting it.

Re: Frequency Sculpting?
I think it just means to take out frequencies from a sound using an EQ. You do this so each instrument has it's own place in the mix so your song sounds clean and not muddy.

Re: Frequency Sculpting?
It seems to me like its just a fancy name for EQing really. Thats all that EQing does, makes sure you have enough room for everything in the mix.
