Hello everyone!
So, one of the benchmarks of so many top producers in many electronic genres nowadays seems to be fills and drum rooms that sound like samples taken from traditional rock or more acoustic music..
Is there a particular sample CD that has a section of this kinf of sound?? Or is there a list of tunes that have the clear breakdown and drum roll for me to go and find?
Would be sick if there was a vengeance spec CD with this kind of action on...
Many thanks for your help chaps

Cheers, had a look through but unfortunately that was all very trancey - no oldskool classic rock drum roll esque things in there

I know!!
For me, I don't come from a background of being into rock music of it so my knowledge of it is very limited - I guess many artists/producers come from rockier backgrounds and at the very least know of some rock tracks that have breakdown/drum solos of the drummer doing a cool end of bar roll..
For me i've looked but it seems like a needle in the haystack to find a tune that was the end of bar roll with no other instrumentation!
Good luck finding it too - would be awesome if anyone knew a few tracks to go and investigat maybe? or links on youtube etc

just grab some good rock drum samples and load them into your favorite sampler. a good tricks for making believable drum rolls is to, 1. constrain your drum hits to the idea that a normal drummer usually only has 2 arms to manipulate the kit, plus 2 legs that might work a hi-hat and a single kick pedal, or two feet on the kick, depending on the drummers style. 2. an image of a drumkit from the drummers view point would give you a pretty good idea of what he might hit and when, if you're unfamiliar with drums.
then make some fills and bounce them out, add compression, saturation and eq to taste. i feel like the fills on the heavy tunes sound almost as if the mids we're scooped and they had a little distortion or sat or something for warmth.
