MALIKA's "One" arrives with english lyrics, dubstep and unusual vocal timbre of the brazilian singer

The Rio de Janeiro's landscapes are not the same beaches on the composer and trumpet player CLaudia Dorei's imaginary. Based in São Paulo for the last 11 years, the renowed carioca composer proves that she's leaving behind the indolence of her first albums' relaxed tracks to reveal her B side in a surprised project. Claudia Dorei shaved her head, started practicing Yoga in her São Paulo's lifestyle and throught the recording process of her second album, did not stop intuitions, furies and expectations to conceive MALIKA.



For the first time chosing english as the language for all her lyrics and an unusual vocal timbre, Malika encounters positivity at the bass sounds of the brazilian dubstep producer Cavalaska. The young talent that is part of the canadian label Monkey Dub and the german Bf-Recordings, signs the production of the album's 10 tracks.



Malika sounds starts off with the dubstep as an emotional and intimate trail, embarking to the soul side of bass music, with loosing the low frequencies that only the body feels vibrating. Claudia Dorei's traditional trumpet used at her first album "Respire" (Breathe) shares the space with synths that beatifully trip between poles of the sound spectrum



Freedom of expression guided the whole process of Malikas' creation of "One" album. During development, the two musicians believe there was no rigid thinking. The energy flowed so strongly that the album came up in one month (creation, recording, mixing and mastering). The first track "One" came out in a single night's production mediated by social network.



Claudia and Cavalaska met about 2 years ago, when Claudia was researching about dubstep made in Brazil. The first collaborative partnership began with the song "Alma que HAbita o Corpo" (Soul inhabiting the Body) to Julgados Culpados' album. After 2 years came the successful challenge of re-working the song "Solo da Paixão" (Land of Passion) of an important MPB brazilian artista Marina Lima. They made a dubstep version and their version entered the songwriter's tribute album.
