SKANNER - Christmas freebie by Native Instruments

Post by komanderkin » Wed Dec 21, 2011 4:37 pm

just released by NI, it's basically a synth that works inside Reaktor and can mangle samples like crazy.

here's the link: http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... r/skanner/

Downloaded this earlier. It'll go perfect with the full version of Reaktor that I'm getting for Christmas :6:

I was messing around with it a little bit earlier, just loaded some drum samples in. It seems to do a lot better with synth samples though. How have you guys been using it? Have you achieved any interesting results?

i found out you cant do this with reaktor player :(
you need the latest full version of reaktor to fully use this synth properly.
i really like the sound of this without putting my own sounds in so im still quite happy with this!

haha trust me! i found out by right clicking and going in "View B" where the synthesizer and wave sample section is.
can any1 post any examples of how it sounds changing up custom samples, e.g. show the original and then the mangled version.
hearing subtle changes and complete changes will be nice.
us poorer people with reaktor player would like to hear it :6:
EDIT: iv even tried to replace the wavs in the SKANNER folder with my sounds + renaming them to the exact same files and still had no luck :q:

damn, i couldn't figure out how to import my own samples either. it seems like a limitation of Reaktor Free indeed. still a pretty cool synth though.

here's another similar synth, this one was re-released as freeware a while ago, it was originally branded by Steinberg and used cost around $200:

http://plex.hermannseib.com/

same as SKANNER, it uses samples as the sounds source and can be used to create some pretty freaky sounds.

To replace the samples just drag your .wav sample on top of the sample view in the B view. You need to have the full version of reaktor to do this though.
