Hello,
I am having trouble figuring out how to get the song that I want to remix into the right tempo and then getting my beat to line up with it correctly. I tried googling it looking for videos but I could not find something good. I feel like an idiot because I see a lot of remixes but I can never figure out how to do them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Most DAWs have tempo analysis tools. Just google/youtube a how to for your DAW and set your track to that tempo and things should sound in sync if you line your beat up with the start of vocal hooks. If you want to use a different tempo to the original you'll have to timestretch your sample to be in sync.

Ok, I guess I just have to keep trying because I know how to do all that but I just cant make it line up. Also, whenever I timestrech in edison i can never hear a difference.

some diy acapella tracks have weird aliasing and i never found one that seemed spot on... real acapellas tho.. don't.. they should match the tempo of the tune...
if they are from a recent release... just find the tempo of the original tune (download the original tune, put it in ur daw, then find the tempo, should be easy with beat detectors, or even by looping..) then roughly sync the acapella with the song to see if they match...
if not u can always chop the acapella up and work piece by piece... with patience ull get it...
which brings us to the old saying : when in doubt, buy ableton live...
(kidding, dont go and download a cracked version just because some dude on a forum mentionned it
)... try A.

In edison to detect the tempo of a song right-click the little dash under "Tempo" (between format and title) then auto-detect for songs with constant tempo.
