the whole dnb/juke blend happening

Post by esfandyar » Tue Jan 03, 2012 8:44 pm

there's been some really good refixes of dnb tunes lately made into a more footwork oriented sound. this recent one from dbridge's autonomic show is fucking fire.

also this refix of remarc's RIP is amazing

thoughts?

d'n'j or j'n'b

The bass in the first one is unnecessary and the second just sounds like switching between juke and jungle, concept has potential mind.

thats the idea! it just adds another element in an old tune which i love dearly. im also a huge fan of footwork so that could make me have some bias ;-)

The Neptune and Fracture rework is one of the better drum and bass reworks into another genre. It captures the intensity and fun that drum and bass has lost, hopefully it signifies at something greater to come.

Africa hitech xlr8r does some mixing between these genres, think its pretty sweet to be honest, for a couple of years dnb hasnt really interested me but this makes it much more listenable.

i like the contrast of out in the street/out in the street vip. think those two tunes showed people the genres could be blended

I'd like to see a proper blend of autonomic-type dnb and juke... i reckon it could be amazing

I've heard it done since the '90's tbh. I remember some DJ Assault mixtapes from then with Ghettotech and DnB mixed together.
