big muff!
I have a rat pedal that i use a bunch on drum-y bits. also a cheap vox amp-- does great to drive it a bit and mic it up.
none of these should cost you more than $50 on craiglist or similar.

Ts808 tube screamer. I have one for my guitar and has a nice deep crunchy tone.

As a massive pedal nerd, I second both of those recommendations. Big Muffs would be good for a really fuzzy, extreme distortion, while the TS would be good for more subtle coloring (imo). You could also buy a small tube amp and really push the break through it to get some awesome tube overdrive.

The DOD pedals are great for cheap effects despite their cheesy names and look, the DOD Death Metal and Grunge sound nice on breaks and bass.

No. Nothing Behringer is decent. None of it.ErotiCore SteNch wrote:thanks guys, gonna order some pedals, was also wondering are some of the behringer pedals decent?
I never really understood the big deal with digital/microprocessor based pedals, mildly defeating the purpose arent they?wormcode wrote:The DOD pedals are great for cheap effects despite their cheesy names and look, the DOD Death Metal and Grunge sound nice on breaks and bass.

never used their guitar pedals, but i got that little mic preamp - MIC200. it's a starved tube design and all that, but very nice for dirtying stuff up and it's ridiculously cheap.ErotiCore SteNch wrote:thanks guys, gonna order some pedals, was also wondering are some of the behringer pedals decent?
Re: recommend me a decent overdrive pedal for breaks
Behringer stuff is really just clones of more expensive pedals, they sound pretty decent but they're literally made of sticks and mud, so they're ridiculously undependable. I'd stay away from them if I were you.

Not sure what you're getting at. The purpose is cheap outboard effects...? If you mean you might as well use software, well sure you can use Trash or Amplitube or something, but the same can be said for someone getting a Microkorg or other VA too. I picked up those DODs for 25 each in a pawn shop, worth it imo. Despite their cheesy factor, they get used quite a bit in metal too.Basic A wrote:I never really understood the big deal with digital/microprocessor based pedals, mildly defeating the purpose arent they?wormcode wrote:The DOD pedals are great for cheap effects despite their cheesy names and look, the DOD Death Metal and Grunge sound nice on breaks and bass.
The Moogerfoogers for example are obviously much better and analogue but also cost way more.
