Hey i'm not quite sure what I should call them but the reggae stabs that come on the off beats off most dubstep tunes to give the chord feel. A lot of artists use this but I guess a simple example would be off the Knife Party song "Fire Hive." It starts on the and's of 1,2,3,4 right as the song starts.
Just wondering what a good synth or a good way to kinda fill out the chord's sounds while also giving it the bounce and reggae feel.
I'm just brain farting and can't think of how to get that kinda vibe in my song.
That stab is usually a minor or major chord with piano samples. Reverb it a lot, add some delay (low wet, low time) and you got it, but the quality of the samples is all

Knife Party = Pendulum.
Sample the stabs out of Pendulum - Tarantula.
Yea I know the connection between the two. Thought it would be easier for everyone to just say Knife Party because thats what the song is released under.
I didn't really wanna sample stuff because I really like making all my own sounds.
thanks for all the help though guys.
The mention of the strings was interesting because I at first thought that the chords were plucked. Not sure but I'm going to look more into that after class.
Yeah listening to Tarantula, it sure is strings (in reggae they use both) . It will be harder to find a sample pack/synth. Sampling pendulum will be hard for building your own chords and progressions so I advice against that.
