Re: Things to do in Amsterdam :)
Go up to the top floor of the public library for good views/nice lunch.
Go visit the zoo (im sad i didn't
) also the area around the zoo has some nice cafes and studenty restaurants (lush pizza place I forget the name of)
Just walk everywhere! its piss easy to get around and its a really nice place just to wander about and you find some good shops that way!
I did a few touristy things (sex museum was hilarious as it was me and four girls, just watching their reaction to everything was worth 5 euro)
Anne Franks house was interesting.
There's a market near the Rambrant museum that had shit loads of cheap food! we got loads of cheese, chorizo, bread, butter and all sorts for under 10euro and had lunch and dinner
24 hour canal boat pass was pretty handy for another way of getting around but abit pricey.
Cant think of anything else at the moment.

My friends who lived there for a year said it was a fucking awful place to live, despite having gone on many holidays there previously and loving it.Sonika wrote:I'm moving there in a few months so I hope this thread gets a lot of attention
Then again I think this was entirely due to the vapid hippie stnuc they lived with.

LOL
Vondelpark opposite the diamond factory, metal skate ramp is ace and lit up throughout the night.
Madame Tussauds on Dam Square

Also theres a museum with the most artifacts outside of Egypt, worth a look.
Visit the Tulip Museum lol - By tram, Line 13 or 17 to "Westerkerk".

Re: Things to do in Amsterdam :)
Go to a big supermarket to get some decent belgian beer , visit some coffeeshops , anne frank's house is a must see.
sit by the water , and most of all : eat a lot of pancakes!
& just randomly talk to people in bars , people are really nice.
It's been a couple of years since i've been there but i remember the little shops all around the centrum selling caps & sunglasses for almost no money.

Sex museum and cannabis college are definitely worth a visit. Anne Frank museum was ok. Do shrooms and walk around the red light district at night, shit is mental.

Rush Hour is a great record store. Also a pretty big name as a house/techno label. They specialize in electronic music that'sMcGuigan wrote:any record stores worth checking out?
not common. Think it's in Nieuwendijk, which is a street very close to the train station.
Examples of good clubs: Trouw, Studio80, Westerunie, Paradiso etc..
Westergasfabriek is neat too, it's basically a culture park. So there's arts, events, tv studios and all that.
Westerunie is also located in this area.

zoo is a must do ! theres a butterfly house and a planetarium as well which is pretty sweet, i had a really good time there. Most of my mates started tripping on shrooms as we got to the aquarium section, was pretty funny to see haha ! Theres a dubstep/drum and bass night as well, cheeky sunday/monday at the winston

Re: Things to do in Amsterdam :)
Rush Hour is in the Spuistraat, about 2 mins from Dam Square. Also check out Distortion in the Westerstraat, they got some nice dubstep from the less known labelsAxeD wrote:Rush Hour is a great record store. Also a pretty big name as a house/techno label.
