tune aint really my cup of tea 2bh, mainly i'm posting here just to tell you to stop using the word chillstep, there is no such genre

plenty of dubstep is already chilled (way more chilled than your tune) and yet is referred to as dubstep, when people say chillstep it automatically makes me assume you dont know much about the history and root of the genre. If you do know then you wouldn't call it chillstep

basically, go and listen to phaeleh or submotion orchestra from proper chilled dubstep, and call it dubstep not chillstep

there's no weight to it. the piano could be good but you overuse it. youve got some boring spaced out Wubs which sound poor. theres no sub pressure and the percussion doesnt fit. a harsh kick and snare doesnt fit the piano.

also, i hate the word chillstep, makes you sound about 13 and that you havent got a clue about dubstep

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

Overall I enjoyed this track, especially the bit at the end. I would like to hear another synth with a harmony, something simple in the midrange. The bassline at the end is nice but I would like something a touch more meaty. The piano melody is very good. :W:

I recently just discovered this style and I really like it. I think chillstep is appropriate for this track but I've only been listening to dubstep for about 9 months so I could be wrong. This style is very similar to the artists I've been listening to the last few days such as Blackmill, Gemini, and Seven Lions. I find it difficult to classify music sometimes because it can gross so many genres. Im not sure what else you could call it other than melodic dubstep.

you are wrong, do some history research first mate, chilled out melodic dubstep is nothing new, its called dubstep...

This tune is 6 years old now and is pretty much the definition of dubstep IMO (dub reggae influence + 2step garage influence = dubstep)

dubstep

there is no such genre as chillstep, all these noob kids need to do some more research before making up genre names, fucking hell
