Virtual Barber Shop

Post by dubloke » Tue Feb 14, 2012 6:14 pm

You'll need headphones for this to work. Make sure there is no noise around, close your eyes, turn the volume up a little bit, hold and press headphone on your ears for better hearing, play it and enjoy this impressive audio work ( illusion ). Not a screamer not a prank!
Ears are pretty amazing things. I kept looking over my shoulders thinking someone was in the room, had to lock my door so i didnt get freaked out by someone walking in

Funny, i was thinking about this yesterday :)

Mate sent it to me a few years ago. First time i listened to it in a bed in a room with lights off and the door opening really freaked me out, i thought someone walked in for real, the real door was in the exactly same position sound was coming from!

for those interested in the science behind this, you can record in a similar way using what is called an ORTF mic technique
