Im a musician and vocalist and i want to bring together my love of Dubstep and heavy metal.

Im looking for someone to be the dubstep side of a new project i want to start blending the both together.

yeah, not going to have much luck here mate, although, to be honest, if you search in the "dubs and tunes for feedback" section of DSF, you might find some up and coming american producers who might be keen, but hardly any of them lurk this side of the forum..

i didn't really want to help, because i hate this sort of idea that mixing the 2 together is a good idea, but i can't help being somewhat nice.

I'm gonna come out and say it.... I like all kinds of dubstep** INCLUDING BROSTEP AND CROSS-OVER COLABORATIONS. The darker and deeper dubstep is what made me interested but then i found a love for other types too.

If someone takes the time to join this forum because they like dubstep and want to work with other people, you shouldn't ATTACK them for liking the wrong kind. maybe be like: "cool man thats an interesting idea... but have you researched dubstep enough? have you heard THIS producer, or THIS album?" Not be like: "fuck off you ignorant bastard"

i said cross-over collaborations not genre merge.

I think this song is really well produced... im not a MASSIVE fan of examples singing but the song works. This song is what i'd call COMMERCIAL studio work for producers with the skills to produce dubstep and dnb.

You have both very poor guitar samples as well as static bland vocals in the song in your sig so we see where your allegiance truly lies.

If a band sends you stems and gets you to remix them, you generally put their guitar and vocals into the remix... also ...just because i dont produce what you consider to be the true form of dubstep, you think my loyalties are elsewhere? ....sigh.

james blake, LV, LD, modeselektor.... those are good examples of producers who can/have cross over with other genres

fair play fair play, as i stated in my last, some genre crossing does work, james blake is a brilliant example, and favourite of mine.

i guess people are shitty to the OP because we love this sound, it's more than just multipe 4-5 minute songs to a lot of us, it's a really really big thing to some, but even still sometimes it was a tad over the top.. most just taking the piss really, shouldn't be taken too seriously

Distance is a great example, he's someone who merged metal and dubstep well.

Yes if you are willing to use shit guitars and vocals in a remix knowing fully well that they sound like shit and you aren't even going to do anything creative with them then you are only after the self-promotion of doing said remix instead of creating music in order to contribute to an already rich sound and history that is Dubstep/UKG/Drum & Bass etc.

It's not a matter of personal taste it's the reality of your intentions.
