100 reasons we like Nu-Rave

Post by thomas » Fri Jul 06, 2007 8:13 pm

1) Its more interesting than other Indie music, regardless you like it or not.

2) It gets people all pent up, which is always funny.

3) NME say so

I think the fact that ppl hate it so much says more about their personality than it does about the scene.

1. Its just a bit of fun for the kids, and why not.

2. jme was in super super magazine wearin day glo

3. Its a way of identifying people with similar interests. Its just a way of bringin ppl together innit. lets face it theres not much community feel about w/out music iz it

4. Its more of a head space than a fashion statement. Ive been told its a reaction of sort 2 the negative post 9-11 climate, depressin times n al, If it makes u feel happy to wear bright shit and that makes other people happy, it can only be a good thing. U can wear non-day glo and still have a nu rave state of mind.

5. It was originally a reaction against all the Shoreditch types who think its cool to look cool, like ridin around on a scooter with a laptop, only now the Shoreditch lot have hopped on it to..but rather than it being 'cool to look un-cool' ..cool is dead..pretencious types take note

6. There might be a lot of posers, but dont tell me u dont pose with ur fuckin lighter in the air with ur hood up! a scene is a scene neon or not..each to their own

7. it challenges masculine ideology which is taken as the norm, which may seem threatening but its healthy 2 have alternatives.

WHATS WRONG WITH OLD RAVE?
I only smoke weed when I need to,
And I need to get some rest,
I confess, I burnt a hole in the mattress,
Yes, yes, it was me, I plead guilty
I cant get no sleep

Yeah, it's all about reliving the year 9 playground factions vibe, innit.

But I like looking cool :|

I don't own a scooter but I sleep on a bed that has a slightly broken laptop underneath. Once we stole some electricity and played Monkey Island 3 outdoors.

I heard about this rave revival, so i got a z shaved into the back of my hair, bought a bomber jacket with Nice And Safe Attitude written on it and went up to my friends that like rock music and said "Why would you want to listen to guitars, guitars are GAY" As a result, nobody talks to me anymore.
