Benga - I Will Never Change

Post by TheTornado » Fri Feb 24, 2012 4:47 pm

Apologies if this is a repost. Did a search and found nothing. He gave this out for free, but downloads are all used up. Thoughts? I personally am not feeling it, I wouldn't play it out, but I'd listen to it at home. If that makes sense.

I actually quite enjoyed it and I went into it thinking I'd hate it so it's a nice surprise. Certainly not to my true love taste but still, he does what he does so much better than all the other rip offs. Not gonna tear down a dance floor but ride around tonight with a group of your friends and have a hopeful perspective. This tune is perfect for that. Big up Benga.

^Exactly. Good music, but not for the dancefloor. We need that stuff, too!

Not for me I'm afraid.

It doesn't have that drive in the drums that Benga does that I like. It's also a little cheesy for my tastes.

Whatever though, I'm sure there's a lot of people who'll like it and it's technically not shite or anything.

some of the stuff Benga put out 5 years ago, was like this close to some of the hemlock/hessle/swamp stuff out today

like the percussion in Middle Man, or the keys in Zombie Jig? that stuff's insane, and then to follow that up with Diary is crazy

i wasn't expecting what came after it dropped, was really hoping for something on the smack your bitch up level.. i agree, it's no diary, it's also not a huge one for dancefloors, but one thing outside of his percussion (and 26 basslines :dunce: had too..) was his more dancey electro synthesis, so i quite enjoyed this one, wouldn't play it out, but i think at this stage we're all so deep into the deeper side/dungeon side that a sound like this maybe isn't as pleasing as it would've been a few years ago?

i am hoping runnin' is going to be on the album, i heard that and was amazed..

lack luster is the term that i would use for this

not for the DF, not for the heads, not for the production crew.... just seem to be mediocre in every aspect

To me it sounds like a track you make when you first learn how to sync a LFO, you don't know how to automate the LFO sync rate so you just leave it at 1/8t and create a track out of that.

This one isn't really for me either... If he has to use the kind of trance-pop'ish sounds he should, in my opinion, just go back to the days of Man on a mission and the instrumental for Youngman - Ho.

The titile should be: benga: I will never make decent music again (even though it was always over hyped and sketchy)

Yeah big up Jesus for dying for our sins and netting us a public holiday in the process.
